il·lu·mi·nate
v. To provide or brighten with light
Illuminate is a word we experience during this season of the year. Homes are illuminated with lights, crèches are illuminated for passers-by, businesses are illuminated to attract customers, but something far more “illuminating” is happening. Our hearts are being illuminated with God’s love. Our minds are being illuminated with hope. Our emotions are illuminated with joy.
The prophet Isaiah foretold the story of Jesus’ arrival with these words, “A people living in darkness have seen a great light” (Isaiah 9:2). Join us as we experience the illuminating power that Jesus’ birth provides.
